Swedish tax authority partied for Skr3.4 million
Tuesday, 06 November 2012
The Swedish tax authority in the eastern region in Sweden invited employees at a conference banquet at Elmia, Jönköping in December last year and threw away the party of the year.
The cost: almost Skr3.4 million for 780 people which has been calculated to an average cost per person Skr4,317, including travel and accommodation.
Among other things, there were artists and disc jockey, sound and lighting cost over Skr420 000, report various Swedish media sources.
Although some critics feel that the cost and the spending was exorbitant and that some of the spending violated the tax authority spending guidelines, Regional chief, Lars Herder thinks that the costs were reasonable.
"That is a lot of money, it is, I agree, but in proportion to what we in the tax authority have and do this as infrequently -every three years, so I think it is reasonable," says Lars Herder, report radio Sweden.
