Britain hopped out of recession in the third quarter after posting its strongest quarterly GDP growth in five years, of 1 percent growth.
UK GDP rose 1.0 percent in the third quarter compared with the previous quarter. Compared to the prior year quarter, GDP was unchanged, according to
Bloomberg News.
Analysts expected that GDP would rise by 0.6 percent compared with the previous quarter, and fall by 0.5 percent from the same quarter the year before, according to Bloomberg News forecast average.
Industrial production rose 1.1 percent in the third quarter compared with the previous quarter. Service production rose 1.3 percent, while construction output fell 2.5 percent.
