Swedish women voters throw more support to the far right party - Sweden Democrats

The Swedish governing alliance parties have seen their support dropped while the Social Democrats and the Left Party have seen more support pouring into them, a new opinion poll shows that reflect a changes in the Swedish political support.
Far right party, Sweden Democrats has been attracting more women and has now reaches a new height in February, an opinion poll commissioned by the Swedish television channel TV4 and carried out by polling organisation Novus.
According to media reports reacting to the new poll results, the new figures represent a heavy reading for the governing alliance leaders who were grilling sausages in Maramö Village, Småland earlier this week, writes the Swedish business daily, Dagens Industri.
The Centre Party on its part continues to lose voters and is now enjoying the lowest support ever, since Novus started looking at such measurements. Support is now at 3.4 percent, and it is mainly women and young people who have abandoned the party.
Centre Party would be joined by the Christian Democrats as parties that not reach the parliament if election were held today. Christian Democrats has had four percent threshold, which was within reach a few weeks ago but now it has declined to 3.5 percent in the TV4/Novus polling. Nevertheless, the Conservative Moderates and the People's Party lost support.
The big winner of the opinion polls is the far right party, Sweden Democrats, whose 10.2 percent present a latest new peak, and strengthens its position as the country's third largest party. The increase of 0.8 percentage points is not statistically significant, but since October last year, the party has increased by 3.7 percentage points in the Novus polling.
The driver of this growth in the far right party is determined to be women. Sweden Democrats is usually around 4.3 percent among female voters, but now they are at 7.6 percent, according to Novus CEO, Torbjorn Sjostrom speaking to tabloid paper, Expressen.
The Social Democrats saw a slight increase according to the poll and is now supported by 31.9 percent of voters. It is the first time since August last year that the party has taken some steps forwards according to the in Novus measurements. Even the Left party also showed an improved positive movement by 1.1 percent to 6.6 percent, while the Green Party fell somewhat to 9.1 percent.
