Sweden is the first country to sign agreements with the United Nations Development Fund, UNDP to provide development support to Area C in the occupied West Bank.
Previously, the Palestinians in the area, which is controlled by Israel, received only humanitarian aid, writes Swedish daily, Svenska Dagbladet.
A fund of Skr90 million will be established and Swedish international economic development organisation, Sida shall until 2014 invest Skr30 million a year in Area C and in occupied East Jerusalem.
Operational responsibility will rest with UNDP.
