Swedish real estate brokers gradually dissipate as many leave their profession

As the Swedish housing sector continues to struggle in terms of sales and development, many real estate brokers are leaving the sector more than ever.
According to a new survey, during the first ten months of this 2012, 618 realtors deregistered from the regulator, Estate Agents Authority (FMI). It is the highest figure in 15 years.
"What we hear is that it's a tougher market, it takes longer to do a negotiation for sale today," said Thomas Carter, spokeswoman for FMI, to the Malmö based daily, Sydsvenskan.
In most cases the deregistration occurs at the request of the occurs the broker.
