Slight movement in the Swedish labour market as unemployment hits 7.4 percent

Swedish job market continues to be tough as in December 2012, the number of employed persons aged 15-74 years amounted to 4 663 000, an increase of 41 000 persons compared to the same period last year.
But the number of unemployed persons amounted to 371 000, corresponding to an unemployment rate of 7.4 percent, official data from Statistic Sweden show. Corresponding month last year saw 353,000 people, 7.1 percent, openly unemployed. On average, the number of hours worked was 136.3 million per week.
