Tiger kills a young man in Copenhagen highlighting that friendship between man and animals can hardly be mutual

Wednesday, 11 July 2012
A young man has been found dead in a tiger enclosure at Copenhagen Zoo, at about 7:30 local time.
Danish media report that the man should be in his 20s and was found by found by zookeepers among Tigers at Copenhagen Zoo on Wednesday morning. The man was bitten in the neck, and the staff quickly concluded that he was dead. Other reports hold that the man is obviously foreign, and has not yet been identified.

According to police, it seems that the man voluntarily climbed into the tiger enclosure, after which the Tigers killed him, writes the Danish Radio.

There were three tigers in the enclosure where the attack occurred. According to the newspaper Berlingske it took a while to get away the tigers and the man was therefore badly damaged.

He had lacerations on the thighs, neck and face. Police have cordoned off the area around the tiger enclosure.
It is not the first time that some one has been attacked by tigers in Denmark, says DR. In 2009 a man committed suicide in Nästveds animal land.

About 20 years ago a man lost fingers when he stuck his hand into the tiger enclosure.
It is unclear why the man was in the animal enclosure, but this is not the first time that unauthorized persons entered the Copenhagen zoo at night.
