More youth unemployed people in Europe

Unemployment in the euro area amounted to 10.9 percent in March, up from unrevised 10.8 percent the previous month, figures from Eurostat show.
Analysts had expected an unemployment rate of 10.9 percent, according to Bloomberg News survey.
Unemployment in all 27 EU countries was measured to be 10.2 percent in March, unchanged from unrevised 10.2 percent the previous month.
Eurostat estimates that 17 million people in the euro area were unemployed in March, while 24.7 people were unemployed in the EU. Compared with the previous month, this means an increase of 169 000 people in the euro area and increase of 193 000 across the EU. Compared to the same month in 2011, the number of unemployed in the euro area by 1.7milliom and 2.1million increased across the EU.
In March 2011, unemployment in the euro area was 9.9 per cent, and in the EU27 was 9.4 percent.
The country with the highest unemployment rate in March contained in the reporting countries in the euro area was Spain with 24.1 percent. Low unemployment was recorded in Austria, 4.0 percent.
Youth unemployment, for 25 years, the euro area amounted to 22.1 percent in March, up from 20.6 percent in the year 2011.
Across the EU, where youth unemployment is 22.6 percent in March, up from 21.0 percent in the year 2011.
