Telenor Reports increased profits for the first quarter

The Norwegian telecoms operator Telenor 's underlying EBITDA earnings for the first quarter of 2013 was Nkr8.423 million against Nkr 7761 million same times last year in the first quarter of 2013.
Analysts had expected, on an underlying EBITDA profit of Nkr8.516 billion according to the analysts estimate summary for the report.
Revenues reached Nkr 24.7 billion as EBITDA before other items was Nkr 8.42 billion, EBITDA margin was 34 percent, and operating cash flow was Nkr 5.6 billion.
“The first quarter of 2013 is characterised by a solid operating cash flow of Nkr 5.6 billion, strong margins in several operations and good progress in operational performance in India. The strengthened EBITDA margin of 34percent is further supported by a higher share of bundled subscriptions and good network quality in the Norwegian operation,’’ said Jon Fredrik Baksaas, President and CEO of Telenor Group to the press release.
