Swedish real estate site, Hemnet buys real estate statistic organisation Mäklarstatistik
Friday, 05 October 2012The Swedish Mäklarstatistik, which provides data of the movements - sales and purchases as well as the performance of the Swedish real estate market has become a subsidiary of the large real estate site, Hemnet.
Mäklarstatistik presents monthly figures on prices in the housing market, which is based on approximately 70 percent of the sales made through brokers.
Even now Swedish Mäklarstatistik is largely owned by the same players behind Hemnet, Mäklarsamfundet, Svensk Fastighetsförmedling and Fastighetsbyrån. The difference after the deal is that Fastighetsmäklarförbundet or the Real Estate Agents Association, becomes the fourth partner of Hemnet.
Hemnet's CEO, Carl-Henrik Borg said in a statement that "Our hope is that the acquisition will contribute to that even more real estate agents join and start reporting their sales data to the Swedish Mäklarstatistik."
