Scores of Finnish companies have tax-haven Panama roots
Friday, 05 April 2013Finnish companies are also not immune to the tax haven escape saga. It emerged that many Finnish companies have roots in the country considered by some people as a tax havens.
Finnish daily, Helsingin Sanomat report that Panama, which is known internationally as a tax haven, hosts owners and managers of hundreds of Finnish firms.
This comes after reports about the proliferation of many companies and individuals having roots in countries which assist them in taxes escape from their home countries has been exposed by the British paper the Guardian yesterday.
However, the paper continues that some of the companies came in to being there for normal commercial reasons, or because an owner of the company lived in Panama, but some may have been set up for tax planning purposes.
