Lundin Petroleum makes oil discovery off shore of Norway
Monday, 08 April 2013The oil company Lundin Petroleum has made a "potentially significant oil discovery" in the North Sea, through its wholly owned subsidiary Lundin Norway AS (Lundin Norway).
Lundin said that the drilling of exploration well 16/4-6S on the Luno II prospect has resulted in a potentially significant oil discovery.
The well is located in PL359 in the central North Sea sector of the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The well will now be tested.
Lundin has 40 percent of license in the PL359. Partners are Statoil Petroleum with 30 percent and Premier Oil with a working interest of 30 percent.
The drilling was carried out in water depths of 101 meters and is located on the southwest flank of Utsirahöjden about 15 miles south of Edvard Grieg field operated by Lundin Petroleum. Details from Lundin
