Nyamko Sabuni leaves politics after next elections

Thursday, 16 February 2012
The only real black Swedish politician and current deputy Minister of Education  and gender and member of the Liberal Party, Nyamko Sabuni, in reported that she will leave politics  after the next election, no matter the outcome.

This means that she would not want to be in politics again after the next election. After Twelve years in politics she has had enough, according to the management magazine, Chefstidningen.

“It's time to do something else, maybe business or studies,” said Sabuni, who was elected to parliament in 2002 and became a minister in Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt's government after the 2006 elections.

She is the first ever black woman minister to have held a whole ministerial position in Sweden.
