World military spending stops increasing but there are still big spenders out there

The economic crisis is also evident in military purchases worldwide,
according to the newest report from the International Peace Research
Institute in Stockholm, SIPRI.
The world's countries spend some more than $ 1.7 trillion in arms
purchase in 2011. It's just a little more than a year earlier. U.S.,
UK, Germany and France reduced their defense budget properly, as well
as India and Brazil.
In return, Russia increased its military spending by over 9 per cent
also China with 6.7 percent. United States spends is still clearly the
country that spends most in defense, the country accounts for 42
percent of world arms purchases. China comes in second. Russia has
overtaken France and Britain and is third.
