Tuesday, 17 April 2012
Swedish house prices continue to rise according to latest reports,
against perception that the house prices would have either remain
stagnant and fall.
But the Nasdaq OMX Valueguard-KTH Housing Index (HOX) has continued to
rise in March. HOXSWE went up one percent compared to February. This
rise has been greatest for the condominiums. HOXFLATSWE rose 1.7
percent last month.
The strong house prices were observed in Gothenburg stronger than in
Stockholm and Malmö and condominiums prices are raising more than
houses, new figures from Value Gard show.
"Several of the sub-indices are now near their highest levels ever.
Index of houses (non condo) has not been moving as much, "writes Value
Gard in a statement.
In March, the Swedish house prices rose by an average of 1.1 percent,
according to Value Gard overall house prices index HOX Sweden. Housing
prices increased on average 1.7 percent, while house (non condo) prices
rose 0.8 percent.
In Stockholm, housing prices rose by 1.8 percent, in Gothenburg and
Malmö by 2.1 and 1.7 percent respectively compared to the previous
month. In the medium-sized municipalities outside metropolitan areas,
house prices have risen by an average of 1.5 percent, according to
