Monday, 09 April 2012
Sales of cosmetics and toiletries are at record high in Sweden with
especially young women splashing on cosmetics. Last year the Swedes

products.
Last year cosmetics and hygiene products - moisturizers, hair products,
soaps and cosmetics sold for up to about Skr15 billion, equivalent to
Skr 1500 per person. This reflects the cost of Swedish people’s dental
visits on average last year.
In ten years, the increase stand at about 30 percent, which means that
Sweden is now operating at the European average, according to the
branch organization that deal with the supply of cosmetics.
The main reason for the increase is thought to be that buyers chose not
more products, but slightly more upscale products. Then there are a
number of changes in trends in where one can observe changes in
volumes. This has to do with for example skin care for men, mouthwash,
and there is also a reported increase in what one might call the spa
industry.
