One of the cores of the Danish shipping empire, Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller was been reportedly dead. He was 98 years.
Th dealth was announced by his daughter, Ane Maersk Mc-Kinney Uggla according to Danish business daily Borsen.
"On behalf of the entire family, I express our deep sorrow over the
loss of our father, grandfather and great grandfather, Maersk Mc-Kinney
Moller," she wrotes, according to Borsen, adding that "We sisters
have lost a father who never betrayed either his family or his work."
Mr. Miller, as he was known within the AP Moller-Maersk Group, was in
many ways synonymous with Denmark's largest company, which he built up
to the global shipping and oil giant as it is today. He was chairman of
the AP Moller along with Wife Chastine Mc-Kinney Moller's family
foundation, a corporate shareholder, the AP Møller Support Fund and AP
Møller.
He has long since retired from management of AP Moller-Maersk. But as a
major shareholder, he had until his death, an important word to say in
the group.
