Swedish small businesses find it hard to export

Thursday, 16 February 2012
The proportion of Swedish small companies that export has not increased over the past decade, according to a new data from the Swedish Growth Board (Tillväxtverkets).

Nearly 20,000 small and medium enterprises participated in the survey. 13 percent of those engaged in some form of export.

Despite a number of export promotion efforts, more and small medium-sized companies find it hard to get into the international market.

And those who are already there find it hard to grow. Fierce competition and difficulties in finding the right skills have stopped the development of the enterprises themselves.
