Swedish micro business environment continues to improve as business failure continues to fall
Tuesday, 05 November 2013
The number of corporate bankruptcies in Sweden reached 589 in October,
representing a slight decrease compared to the same month in 2012 and
which suggest that the Swedish business environment continues to
improve.
The figures come from the business and credit information company UC, in a press release.
For the period January to October, the number of corporate bankruptcies
in Sweden increased to 5757 items that is, 6 percent more than in the
corresponding period of 2012.
UC notes that it is the fourth consecutive month in which it has
recorded fewer bankruptcies, which reflects a more stable economy and
demand.
“Many companies have been given a boost with more stable cash flow and
profitability, which means that more and more companies are surviving,
” said UC’s marketing manager, Roland Sigbladh in a comment.
He further notes that UC seeing increased optimism in several Swedish
industries, but there is uncertainty about the important private sector
consumption, if it will increase.
“Perhaps, the debate about the high level of debt and a possible future
amortization requirements for properties has made consumers more
cautious, which can affect many industries, ” he says.
