Summer just getting tougher for Swedish fashion giant, H & M

Clothing chain H & M sales in comparable units decreased by 1 percent in July whereas the Group total sales including VAT in local currencies increased by 9 percent compared to the same month the previous year.

H&M Analysts had on average expected the comparable sales to increase by 0.8 percent and that total sales would increase by 10.2 percent.
Comparable units comprise the stores and the internet and catalogue sales in countries that have been in operation for at least a financial year.

The total number of stores amounted to 2,940 on 31 July 2013 versus 2,603 on 31 July 2012.
