Tuesday, 03 December 2013
Denmark has been classed the least corrupt country on earth followed by New Zealand. Sweden came in world.
This comes from the international organisation Transparency International in its annual Corruption Perceptions Index.
Sweden, together with Finland, scored 89 points out of 100. Denmark and New Zealand hit 91 points.
At the bottom lies Afghanistan, North Korea and Somalia, all with 8 points.
Nearly 70 percent of the 177 listed countries are considered to have serious corruption problems.
Transparency International writes that The Corruption Perceptions Index
ranks countries and territories based on how corrupt their public
sector is perceived to be. A country or territory’s score indicates the
perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0 – 100,
where 0 means that a country is perceived as highly corrupt and 100
means it is perceived as very clean. A country’s rank indicates its
position relative to the other countries and territories included in
the index. This year’s index includes 177 countries and territories.
