Apple music launch, a pure threat to Spotify streaming service

Monday, 10 September 2012
Apple corporation is big and it has its own platforms such as the iphone, surfboards – ipad, the Ipod and PCs and besides all these it also has the itunes. So it is a big player in the music listening and electronic distribution systems. When it planned to launch its own streaming services or radio, fear has now griped the Swedish music streaming  network Spotify.

IT giant Apple is going to start a radio station with streaming music according to media reports. The idea is that iTunes users will listen to streamed music that they have not purchased.
Anyone who listens to commercial radio will automatically switch over to their own music files as soon as it airs commercials. Apple dominates in terms of downloaded music but has no market share when compared to the likes of  Wimp and Spotify in the streaming sector. The new radio station will be financed with ads in the same manner as Spotify’s free version.

For the Swedish music service, Spotify,it is a very disturbing news, according to news reports. It was immediately apparent on Spotify’s U.S. competitor Pandora, whose share price plummeted on Friday.

Neither Spotify nor Pandora is profitable and Apple’s financial muscle gives them an advantage because they do not need to make money on the service, writes report the Wall Street journal.
