Finnish economy continues to crimp
Tuesday, 06 August 2013
Finland's economy shrank by 0.8 percent in May compared with the same
month in 2012 following a decline of 2.2 percent in April, the
country's official statistics agency, Statistics Finland said.
In a previous calculation the decline was underestimated in which the
Finnish GDP in April year on year was reported to be 4.2 percent.
Compared with the month before Finland's economy grew by 1.2 percent in May.
One evidence of tough times is unemployment, which continues to be a
hard thing for the weak economy to manage. Nearly half of the
unemployed in Finland consider that it is very hard to keep and manage
a job, writes the Finnish daily, Helsingin Sanomat.
