Stoppage of trading of Nordea stocks and shares in Nordic market
Tuesday, 17 July 2012
Trading in the Nordic biggest bank Nordea has seen the trading of its
shares stopped trading on the stock exchanges in Stockholm, Copenhagen
and Oslo, as an investor alert.
Trading in Nordea's shares was halted on the stock exchanges at 11.15am
local time. There is confusion in the company as around 10:45 am
Nordea Bank Norway released its interim report for the second quarter,
despite the fact that Nordea had not announced its quarterly report
until tomorrow, Wednesday, at 07:00 am.
According
to Danish business daily Borsen, the problem might have been because of
an error in which Nordea's accounts for the Norwegian division was
published on the Norwegian stock exchange.
Now, all trading in its stock has been stopped. "The Nordea share
is suspended," said Jacob Havshøi Kaule, of Nordea to the stock
exchange in Copenhagen.
It is not clear when sale will come up again according to media reports
and Nordea press department does not want to disclose anything about
the leak at this time.
Scandinavian Companies and Market has not been able to get any body from Nordea for comment.
The report from Nordea in Norway shows an operating profit of Nkr1565
million from Nkr1270 million compared to same quarter a year earlier.
That would have led to increase in the share prices.
