Trouble in Stockholm as Masked men set cars on fire

Monday, 25 June 2012
Three cars were burned and masked men threw fire gear on the road before they fled the scene. The events occurred shortly after each other on Monday evening.

The first alarm came at 20:20 pm Swedish time when several people witnessed the two men set fire to a car which they abandoned in the middle of road Kymlingelänken outside Kista.

The men were both masked, and then disappeared from the scene on something that probably was a motorcycle.
The men seemed to also have thrown fire gear on the road and many motorists got a puncture when they approached the burning car, police said.

Six minutes later, a similar alert was received on the motor way, E4 at Järva tavern where a second car was set on fire in the northbound lane and one or more men had left in a car. Also there were more drivers whose cars got puncture when they were hit by the fire gear.

At 20:28 came news that another car was on fire, this time on Åkervägen in Helenelund in Sollentuna. There is no report about that few people would have been seen in connection to the car.

The police told Swedish daily, Dagens Nyehter they did not know why the men have set fire to the cars, or whether all three events were linked.
