Swedish anti-Islam artist Lars Vilks among lecturers on Stop islamisation of Nation conference

Wednesday, 12 September 2012
As the anti Islamic rhetoric in the west continues, in the USA yesterday was a conference which was condemning Islam. Could this also be part of the reason why the American embassies were attached and could the Swedish artist Lars Vilks be part of this?

Yesterday, a US state department official was killed and at least one other American was wounded when militiamen stormed the US consulate in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi. According to the BBC, it is believed the protest was held over a US-produced film that is said to be insulting to the Prophet Muhammad.

Also in  Cairo, Egypt, there was demonstration in which protesters breached the US embassy and tore down the United States flag, which was flying at half mast to mark the 9/11 attacks, and replaced it with an Islamist banner. Here also protesters condemned what they said were the humiliation of the Prophet of Islam under the pretext of freedom of speech.
While this was happening, the Swedish artist, Lars Vilks yesterday was giving a lectern on a controversial anti-Islamist meeting in New York. The meeting was organized by the organization Sion, "Stop Islamization of Nations," led by the American model accused of engaging in hate speech.

The tone of the meeting was at times very hard on Muslims, and Lars Vilks does not regret that he chose to participate in the meeting.

Lars Vilks had some problems at the beginning of his appearance when he wanted to show off his drawing of the Prophet Muhammad as a dog and a technician was called, reports radio Sweden.

In his speech, which was listen to by some hundred of participants, he said that his work was an art project, and that he does not really take a stand politically.
They laughed heartily at Vilk's jokes - otherwise applauded the most when other speakers attacked Islam and Muslims.

A representative of the English Defence League wanted the revolution to stop the Islamization, another speaker said that "Muslims breed like rats," and that "Islam must be eradicated."

Despite all the derogatory utterances that were made at the meeting, Vilk told radio Sweden that there is nothing that made him regret his participation in the meeting.

He feels that meeting the various factions that hate Islam and wants it irradiated is "a way to get more knowledge about these environments."

According to CNBC, Sam Bacile, a 56-year-old California real estate developer who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew is said to be the one behind the production, direction and writing of the two-hour film, "Innocence of Muslims".
