Sweden’s net trade decreased in February but still in positive territory

In February 2012 Swedish exports of goods amounted to Skr 98.8 billion, while imports of goods amounted to Skr 92.9 billion. As a result, the net trade balance was Skr 5.9 billion.

According to Statistic Sweden, foreign trade in goods resulted in a net trade surplus of Skr 5.9 billion in February 2012 according to preliminary calculations. In February 2011 the net trade surplus was Skr 10.2 billion.

The value of exports in February 2012 amounted to Skr 98.8 billion, while imports were valued at Skr 92.9 billion. Compared to February 2011, exports have remained unchanged in value, while imports increased by 5 percent.

Trade with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of Skr 13.2 billion, while the EU trade resulted in a deficit of Skr 7.3 billion.

Net trade (Dec 2011–Feb 2012) showed a surplus of Skr 19.2 billion
During this period, the value of exports has increased by 1 percent compared to the corresponding period one year ago.
