Sweden emerges second happiest country in the developed world
Tuesday, 28 May 2013
When it comes to international comparison of almost everything
Sweden is ways classed on the top end. The most recent one is the
happiness indicator or the Better life index in which 34 countries of
the OECD have been ranked and Sweden emerged Second.
In an Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) ranking topped
by Australia, in which it was assessed the happiest countries in the
world, the OECD looked at factors such as income, health, safety and
housing. Australia was classed the best and happiest place on earth at
this moment followed by Sweden.
Other top Scandinavia rankers are Norway, Denmark, and Iceland, which featured on the list of the top 10.
One powerful example as to why Australia is the happiest place on earth
right now is that more than 73 percent of Australia's 23 million people
aged 15 to 64 hold a paid job, which is above the OECD average.
The OECD Better Life Initiative whose ranking is based on, allows
a better understanding of what drives the well-being of people and
nations and what needs to be done to achieve greater progress for all,
writes the OECD in its executive summary.
