Stockholm remain stronger economically than the rest of the country despite the economy

The Swedish economy slowed somewhat in the City of Stockholm but strengthened slightly in the county during the fourth quarter of last year, showing that Stockholm stand out as a powerful force in business in Sweden.

Stockholm area showed a stronger economic performance in Sweden than elsewhere in the country, according to the Stockholm city's owned company, Stockholm Business Region.

At the same time, start-ups and bankruptcies grew more compared to the quarter before. More people got jobs but the unemployment rate still rose to 6.0 percent in both the city and county, compared with 8.7 percent of the workforce in the rest of the country.
