The
police who shot a dark skinned man in Husby, Stockholm, ruled he did so
in self defence. Opponents are not surprise and say there is no value
in dark skinned people in Sweden

The investigation into the police officer who shot a 69-year-old man
to death in Husby that led to wide spread rioting and property
destruction in the suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden has been dropped.
The verdict according to police's own investigation is that the police
officer did so in self-defence. Opponent sees it as a verdict to the
inferior value of a dark skinned man in Sweden.
The Chief Prosecutor drops the preliminary investigation against the
police suspected of manslaughter according to an announcement that came
on earlier today. But the spokesman of the organisation
Megafonens, Rami Al-Khamisi told radio Sweden that "I'm
disappointed, but not surprised. I am disappointed and frustrated, but
not surprised. We have from the outset wanted an independent
investigation."
"I have come to the conclusion that there has apparently been no crime
committed here. The man started an attack and the police acted in
self-defense," says prosecutor Eva Finné at the National Unit for
police communictation.
The Police was called to Husby outside the Swedish capital, Stockholm
on May 13 this year, where a man was in an apartment with his
wife and a knife. The man waved a knife on the balcony and the police
perceived him as intimidating and aggressive. The police claim that
despite various attempts to calm the man whom they thought was about to
hurt his wife failed.
The Police is said to have broken into the man's apartment and as they
were about to arrest him he attack with a machete or
knife and one of the officers then fired a shot against the man's
head at about a meter away. Another police officer fired a shot against
the man's leg, but missed.
Before the deadly shot, the police is said to have fired warning shots
inside the apartment and also sprayed him with pepper spray and thrown
distraction grenades to separate the spouses.
The fact that there were several police officers in the apartment,
prosecutor Eva Finné feels that they were in such a position that the
police officer who fired the fatal shot did not manifestly act
indefensibly.
Rami Al-Khamisi does not trust and believe in the police and feels
that the police will do all to cover their backs after all, a black
life is worth nothing in Sweden. That prosecutors will also not give
due attention in relation to justice to the black life given its value
and told radio Sweden that going forward…
"We'll say here that his is not the first time police have committed
big mistakes against us. We are asking the question how it could
necessarily be self-defence when several police officers go into an
apartment where there is a man who is only armed with a knife. It is
difficult to understand that it would be self-defence if the police go
in and kills an old man," says Rami Al-Khamisi.
