Plastic surgery explodes in
Sweden as every third young girl can imagine plastic surgery. What
happens to the beautiful Swedish women we use to know?
The view has always been that Swedish women are beautiful. But this has been in the eyes of outsiders as the Swedish women who are being though to be beautiful don’t see themselves that way. An evidence of lack of confidence in natural beauty of Swedish women is the explosion of cosmetic procedures carried out in the recent years.
In just two years the number of women who are willing to do beauty procedures has increased by nearly 40 percent, according to a new survey carried out by Swedish television and polling organisation SIFO.
Lips job, botox in the forehead, dermal fillers in the cheek bones, fat reduction, permanent hair removal, teeth whitening and breast surgeries (augmentation and reduction) are some of the operations Swedish women take to make their bodies look as beautiful as they’ll wants.
Some patients would spend some Skr200,000 yearly on various beauty procedures. And the number is growing.
Between 2009 and 2011, interest among women in Sweden to make different beauty procedures has increased by nearly 40 percent, according to a poll carried out by Sifo for Swedish television.
On the whole, the number of Swedes who choose to make beauty surgery is also increasing.
Nearly one in five women is willing to improve their appearance through plastic surgery.
The biggest interest is among women of 15 – 29 years, where as many as one third are willing to improve their appearance through plastic surgery.
The really big change is the so-called light-intervention - botox and fillers. The surgical procedures here have also increased but the non-surgical section has exploded, according to medical commentators.
The young people have always been about their appearance. The difference is that now there are all these opportunities to do something about it, according to Swedish television.
