Norwegian arrested in France accused of planning terror campaign

French Interior Ministry say a Norwegian national, was arrested on
Tuesday in France on suspicion of planning a major terrorist action.
According to French media the Norwegian and his French wife were seized
in Corrèze in central France. He is described as neo- Nazis and has
previously served a sentence in Norway for a knife murder.
French media writes that the French intelligence service DCRI had
the man under surveillance for several months. He is described as very
active on the internet and he will be one of many who received the
manifesto of the mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik in 2011.
The police is said to have had suspicions on him after discovering that
his wife recently bought several firearms. His wife is a member of a
shooting club and got the guns legally.
On Tuesday there was a major raid on the couple's farm to look for more weapons and explosives, according to French media.
According to Norwegian media, he is known as Varg Vikernes (40) was
arrested by French anti-terrorist police, suspected of planning to
carry out acts of violence. First French media mentioned that he had
plans to conduct a "massacre."
"This person, who is a member of the neo-Nazi movement constitutes a
potential threat to the community as he has shown through his
statements on the internet, He should be detained" a statement from the
French ministry said.
In the raid carried out by the French anti-terrorist police in
Vikernes' home in the small town of Salon-la-Tour in the Corrèze
region, five firearms were serized.
