Increasing problems with pick pocketing in Stockholm

Monday, 25 June 2012
There is the growing increase pick pocketing in Stockholm, according to police data. In the inner city, thefts increased 40 percent in one year and in Södermalm it is reported to have almost doubled in five years.

According to media reports, Stockholm tourist board is expecting an increase in tourists this year - which will probably lead to even more pick pocketing during the period.

“Pick pocketing theft statistics are always up when the tourist buses and cruise vessels are seen around,” said Peter Enell of the Stockholm City Police according to media reports.
