Continued traffic problem after snowstorm in Sweden

Thursday comes with another hang over in transport traffic in Sweden as yesterdays storm effects still play for the country. 38 rail departures and arrivals were  cancellation in rail traffic as well as some disruption in air and road  to start with early Thursday according to the country's transport administration.

"Staying indoors would be better even today," says Jonas Bengtsson, Press communicator at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Yesterday's snow chaos is having repercussions also on Thursday - the large amounts of snow that paralyzed the eastern parts of Sweden remains and the Traffic Authority has not caught up despite having cleared the road all night. Rush-hour traffic in Stockholm is expected to be better than yesterday but far from smooth.

"It looks better in Stockholm today, but there are still areas where there is much snow. It is not trouble-free either to the rail or road," says Jonas Bengtsson, Press communicator at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Snowstorm hit the Swedish north along the coast but its is not expected to be as intense as yesterday.

At Arlanda airport which was paralyzed by the blizzard  yesterday, announced on Thursday morning that there will be minor delays in air traffic during the morning. Seven departures from the airport and 13 arrivals were cancelled in the morning. Air travellers are encouraged to keep in contact with their airlines for the latest information.
