A type of gas spread in the Stockholm subway - many affected

Thursday, 19 July 2012
Some sort of substance, probably gaseous, is reported to have spread late on Wednesday night in subway building in Solna, in Stockholm Sweden.

Six or seven people are reported to have been affected and were taken away sick and were assisted by ambulance personnel, including oxygen support devices.
The first alarm about the mysterious substance in the building, north of Stockholm, came just before midnight on Wednesday. Then information went around that it could have been tear gas or pepper spray.

But neither the police or emergency services could establish what the gas could have been made up of.

At the time of the first reports rail traffic to and from Solna was stopped and police officers put up extensive roadblocks outside the building.

However, on Thursday morning, the closures and subway trains began to roll - even though it was not known what had been responsible for six or seven people to throw up.
