The Swedish governing coalition making looses in public opinion support

Friday, 08 March 2013
The Swedish government coalition, aka the Alliance is having a throbbing at the opinion polls.

A new opinion poll from polling organisation Demoskop for the Swedish tabloid paper, Expressen, shows that the coalition parties  are bleeding and have reached the lowest level in opinion support since 2008.
This comes after the parties a week and a half ago saw their leaders relaxing in a country resort of Maramö where they grilled sausage and relaxed.

All the parties that make up the Alliance coalition lost support in the poll for the first time in more than four years such that overall support for the Alliance parties fell below 40 percent. Both the Centre Party and the Christian Democratic Party are languishing under parliamentary accession threshold, which is 4 percent. This means those parties are now polling below 3 percent

"The entire Alliance coalition is feeling bad and that is extremely clear. Sweden Democrats, on its part are having a new high. There is still a long way to the election, but the overall picture right now is that it is very difficult to see how a government can be formed in a reasonably stable basis, "said Anders Lindholm, CEO of Demoskop, told Swedish news agency TT.

The Social Democrats, the Green Party and the Left Party which make up the leftwing Red-Green coalition are enjoying increasing support and are shifting to 48.1 percent of voters support.
