Swedish people are against tax cuts

Wednesday, 03 July 2013
Swedish taxes are very high and the country is considered as one of the high tax paying country in the world but does one think this is something the Swedish people sleep less about, nope!
According to a new survey, only 14 per cent of Swedes sees tax cuts as important. 82 percent would rather have investments in welfare with higher taxes than see tax cuts.
The survey was conducted by the polling institute Sifo and which show that men are more fond of tax cuts than women. Only eight per cent of women prefer tax cuts before welfare initiatives. The corresponding figure for men is 19 percent.
In view of these issues there is not much difference between the members of the main workers Union, the LO members and those from the unions of the management or services sector. However, the difference is great between the political parties and political blocs.

Among leftist voters are there is no support for the need for further tax cuts and almost as few among Green Party voters and Social Democratic voters.

Most interested in tax cuts are voters who sympathize with the Christian Democrats, 41 percent of them like the idea of investing in tax increases and only 44 who want welfare initiatives.
