Swedish opposition coalition continue to hold their ground in their fight for office in next election

Sunday, 30 June 2013
The Swedish opposition parties or the Red-Green coalition continues to hold their ground in terms of voters' opinion as the general elections date getting closer and closer.

As the parties start descending to the Swedish traditional summer political retreat known as "Almedalsveckan", a week of political discussion and promises which begins today, the governing parties know that they have an uphill battle if they are to remain in office. It is difficult now as almost nine percentage points separate the governing Alliance and the opposition Red-Green, a new opinion poll show. The opinion poll is a more robust on as it is a weighted opinion from data from other polls which the polling organisation did for radio Sweden.

In reality, the Red-Green parties are greater than the Alliance and the far right Sweden Democrats together. If the election were held today, the Red-Green opposition would get a majority and the difference between the blocs is 8.6 percent, reports radio Sweden.

The Social Democrats, the Green Party, and the Left (Red-Green) in total have 49.7 percent of the voter support. The governing Alliance parties have 41.1 percent. The Social Democrats alone has 32.8 percent and the Conservative Moderates has 27.1 percent. Far rights, Sweden Democrats are steady at 8 percent. The Centre party falls follow below the parliamentary accession threshold of 4 percent. They have 3.9 percent at this moment while their close friends The Christian Democrats, who have long seen some reversals in the opinion polls, has 4.1 percent.

Except something changes, the Socialist leaning left wing government will be coming to Sweden soon.Opinion State in June 2013 (change compared to May 2013/changes compared to the 2010 election)
