Swedish government budget come under sharp criticism

Wednesday, 19 December 2012
The government's draft budget for next year is far too fuzzy at the edges, according to media reports.
The Swedish National Audit Office is now holding a negative view about the coalition government the Alliance's budget proposal.

They cite for example that the absence of the impact of the weak fiscal impact on the economy that was poorly analysed in their budget proposal. According to the government, the finance policy is designed so that it has a stabilizing effect on the economy, but how this will be done is not clear.

It also explains why the government is doing a different assessment of the fiscal impact on the economy in the Budget, than in the Spring Fiscal Policy Bill.
Another issue that is determined to be far too vague, according to the National Audit Office, is how the government looks at the risks associated with property prices and household indebtedness.
