Monday, 26 November 2012
The leader of the Swedish opposition party, Social Democrats, Stefan Löfven would love to see that the Swedish employment services gain more complimentary support from private sector so as to improve its efficiency and that of the labour market.

Speaking on Swedish television program Agenda on Sunday, the leader said he wants to attract private employment agencies, and actors of such sector to add as a compliment to the Swedish Employment Service. This could reduce unemployment in Sweden according to Stefan Löfven, who gave a broad view of how his government improve on the economic and social stance of Sweden.

Löfven, criticized the Swedish Employment Service for not properly using funds at its disposal to create pathways to the jobs market which still continue to remain fragmented. Instead that money has been sent back to the Swedish treasury while unemployed people cannot fill jobs that are available on grounds of lack of skills. Also certain sectors of the society have limited access to the job market even if they have the skills. Racial and discriminatory forces make it those certain groups of the society have not way of getting a job and the government is blamed for not doing much to improve their lot.

The Social Democrat leader who has a long experience in the industrial sector where he worked as leader of the trade union, posit that the key, is to bridge the so-called recruitment gap in the labour market - the 400,000 people unemployed while companies lack skilled workers.

"We have 73,000 more places than the government. More training is needed to get to the match these jobs."

Löfven says that if he were to get to office today, he would consider several different actors to work with the Swedish employment services so as to make the job market more efficient. The different actors he referred to at the various industries and specialist to cooperate with Arbetsfömedlingen.

"The situation of the Swedish labour market is serious," the leader of the Social Democratic party, Stefan Löfven said, adding that "government forecasts have been wrong,"  and believe that there is the need now to encourage domestic consumption and investment. His administration would not lower corporation taxes by 70 percent but will invest Skr 11 billion on economic stimulus measures.

"We want to focus on families with children, seniors, the sick, and the unemployed. We know that it stimulates the economy. The export industry is hit by recession and high exchange rate, therefore it is important to encourage domestic consumption and their own investments.
