A new opinion poll on Sunday has given the Swedish Green party a high point in the Swedish political scene, thus knocking the far right party, Sweden Democrats off pole position.
Conducted by polling organisation, Sifo for the Swedish daily newspapers, Göteborg-Posten and Svenska Dagbladet, in February, the Centre Party remains under four percent (3.6 percent), which means it has no access to the Swedish parliament if elections where be held today.
Also the Christian Democrats stand at 3.6 percent and thus falls below the access to the parliament. As for the far rights Sweden Democrats, which has been rising in popularity in the past months, it has been losing support for the second poll in a row, and falls to 8.5 percent, and has thereby lost its place as the third largest party in the country.
The Green party has now emerged as the third largest party, which has seen its support increased by two percentage points to eleven percent.
Concerning the political blocs, Red - Green opposition parties have a total of 48 percent of voters support against the ruling Alliance Parties 42.4, a difference of 5.6 percentage points.
The two largest parties in the country now are the Social Democrats and the Conservatives Moderates. They both saw their support dropped in February, with Social Democrats falling by 2.3 percent and Moderates 0.3.
The changes with the support for the Green Party's rise is the only statistically significant change.
