Swedish Finance Minister, Anders Borg, would hope for an Obama win

Tuesday, 06 November 2012
Swedish Finance Minister, Anders Borg, hopes for a Barack Obama win in the US general election on Tuesday.
However, he finds the state of the U.S. economy will remain a concern no matter who wins the election, reporters said on Tuesday.
"I would for political reasons, prefer Obama, but it has more to do with what he thinks about social freedoms and how we believe that a society should work, "Borg said.

However, he believes that the difficult economic situation the country finds itself in makes room for reform is very small, regardless of the outcome of the election.
"America is an economy with a very serious concern. They have a very high level of unemployment, they have had weak growth and high deficits., it is worrying, and no matter who wins, they will have very limited room for manoeuvre, "he said.
"They need to organize their economic policies," he adds.
Latest opinion pools show President Barack Obama, Democrats and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are at an almost tie.
