Sweden Democrats back off a bit - another poll show

Monday, 17 December 2012
It is not very clear how the Swedish voting public would feel if the far right party, Sweden Democrats actually continues to grow the way it is now but the headlines on front pages of national newspapers can tell that there is some amount of anxiety.

Yesterday we presented an opinion poll that shows that one in ten Swedish voter now backs the far right party. Well, today, another one has come up which show that the
Sweden Democrats has slopped a bit for the first time since May.

The new poll published in the tabloid paper, Aftonbladet conducted by polling organisation, United Minds, between 12 November and 16 December, said 9.7 percent of respondents said they would vote for Sweden Democrats. This is a decrease of 1.5 percentage points since the previous poll.

The rise of the Sweden Democrats that has been growing since May seems to have been broken and it is held that it has been driven by the violent behaviour exhibited by some top party cadres, according to United Minds opinion Manager, Carl Melin to Aftonbladet.

The red-green parties, Social Democrats, the Left party and the Greens continued edge in the opinion polls with 46.9 percent of the vote while the Alliance slop to 42.4 percent. The Christian Democrats were under the threshold for parliamentary accession with only 3.8 percent of the votes.
