Social Democrats will work with the government to reduce corporate taxes

Wednesday, 03 October 2012
The Social Democrats, the leading opposition party in Sweden will work with the Swedish government to reduce corporate taxes.
In this light, the party has proposed a reduction in the corporate tax rate that will cost Skr8.8 billion in 2013, according to various news reports out yesterday.

According to the proposal, the reduction will be paid by the companies themselves through reduced deductibles, when the so-called interest mechanism is stopped.

The Social Democrats will thus be investing about half as much as the government in the tax cut process. The government's budget shows that its corporation tax rate will stand at 22 percent, while the Social Democrats propose 24 percent.
