Scores of countries, spying on their subject refugees in Sweden

Monday, 28 May 2012
People who left their countries due to fear of prosecution as a result of their political affiliation and sought asylum in Sweden are still not free. Thousands of them are still live with fear of reprisals in Sweden from their former home countries governments as they now exercise freedom of speech in Sweden which is usually aimed against their old regimes.

Over the past decade, it is estimated that at least 20 or so countries have put people in Sweden to spy and put pressure on opposition, according to the Swedish security police, reports radio Sweden

If the security police is tipped of such business, there is nothing more to be done other than to possibly expel the person from the country, said radio Sweden

But the spies are said to be lurking in different locations in the community such as the state - owned airlines, news agencies, or bogus refugees placed by the regime in order to infiltrate the opposition organizations and to create road map that possibly threaten the opposition, according to Wilhelm Unge, head analyst for counter-espionage of the Swedish security police.

Some of such government is that of Syria which has been killing many people at home and some are aloes being chance abroad including in Sweden.  Syrians living in Sweden, who were active in the Syrian Arab spring have talked of how the action of the regime affect them most – the spying and threats to their families back home.

According to Swedish security police, there are about thousands of people in Sweden who are afraid of reprisals from their homelands.
“Many of them live in such fear that they do not dare exercise their constitutional rights and freedoms and all of a sudden do not dare to vote a certain way in the Swedish elections and so on.
