Scandinavia countries lead global ranking the best  and rich countries  to live - a new ranking show

According to a new classification of prosperity of nation in terms of financial wealth and other aspects that make up prosperity, the Scandinavian countries have score high in the list.

This goes to reintegrate the view that most Scandinavian countries are a model in the world when it comes to quality of life, good governance, and individual freedoms.

The ten highest ranked countries - most prosperous countries according to the Legatum Institute for 2012

2 Denmark
3 Sweden
4 Australia
5 New Zealand
6 Canada
7 Finland
8 Netherlands
9 Switzerland
10 Ireland

The British organsisation, Legatum Institute which is behind the ranking, identified that ideally, Norway, followed by Denmark and Sweden are ranked on top of the list. Finland is placed seventh, while the U.S. comes at the 12th place.

142 countries are classed and judged on eight different factors, including education, security, personal freedom, health as well as prospects of the country.

The Prosperity Index is the only global measurement of national success based on both income and wellbeing. The econometric analysis used by Legatum Institute has identified 89 variables, which are spread across eight sub-indices. By measuring prosperity holistically they are able to identify and analyse the specific factors that contribute to the success of a country.
