Monday, 18 June 2012
As the rest of Europe celebrate the success of the conservatives there in last night’s election. It turns out that Conservative politics if getting less popular today that before. In Sweden they are gradually being pushed out of power.

In the USA, the conservative Republicans, via their mouth piece, Fox news was celebrating the success of the Conservatives in the Greek election there they said that it was a relief that the leftist anti-bail out pro – growth did not win. It turned a the corner from past election results in recent month such as the French in which pure conservative ideas are loosing traction with voters.

Here in Sweden, the Social Democrats party has seen its fortunes continue to increase month by month since their new leader Stefan Löfven was elected.

The party had actually increased more within the Red – Green parties, which include the Social Democrats, Left Party and Green Party. They would gain a majority in parliament if there was to be an election today, according to a voter survey conducted by polling organisation Sifo made for and published on Sunday in Swedish dailies, Göteborgs-Posten and Svenska Dagbladet. The percentages would stand at 51.8 percent against 41.9 for the governing Alliance parties.

The Social Democrats have seen their numbers increased since the election of its new leader Stefan Löfven, while the Left party decreases 0.9 percentage points despite the party changed leadership to Jonas Sjöstedt, which would have been a boost.
