The growing confidence in the Swedish Social Democrats leader  Stefan Löfven

Friday, 06 April 2012
The Swedish Social Democrats have had enough being in the shadows of government and after numerous tries, they seem to have had a solution on how to unseat the incumbent government.

Their new man, Stefan Löfven, seems to be the real high hitter required to bring the party back from the doldrums. This is shown in a recent opinion poll that put Stefan Löfven up in confidence to the level of former leader and one the most successful Social Democrats Göran Persson.

In the new opinion poll conducted by pooling organisation, Sifo for the Swedish tabloid paper, Aftonbladet, Stefan Löfven has a high level of confidence of up to 50 percent of voters. It is the highest figure for a Social Democrats leader since Göran Persson who was the most popular Social Democrats leader in the early 2000s

But that said to beat Fredrik Reinfeldt is esier said than done as most Swedes still trust more with 58 percent of trust, the same figure as in the previous poll, but well below its peak of 72 percent in 2010. In third place is Gustav Fridolin of the Green party with 39 percent in trust or confidence.
