Far right party, Sweden Democrat membership increases sharply

It is now clear that the Swedish far right party, the Sweden Democrats is recruiting more members than would have been thought. Therefore, it is not just the view of the opinion polls that has shown increased support for the Sweden Democrats but also the registers, which show increase members per head.

The fact is that the number of membership in the party is increasing, counted per head of registered members, that increase is rising rapidly. The evidence come from the party's own register which shows that since last summer, the party received nearly 2500 new members.

The party stirred up racist and misogynistic statements by a senior representative but that instead acted as a PR for the party and support for it just kept increasing. Almost 1000 new members came in just in that November.

Compared to the end of 2011, the number of members of the party increased by 48 percent last year, from 5343 to 7890 members.
