Erik Almqvist dismissed from the Swedish parliament after racist utterances

The Swedish far right party, Sweden Democrats has reacted by dismissing one of its top officials after reviewing a film which showed him using extreme hateful comments.
The Sweden Democrats economic spokes person, Erik Almqvist, was filmed insulting a lady and a man using extreme hate words. Though it happen two years ago, the nature of the action on the film means that the nature of the racist and sexist epithet are things the party is trying to eliminate. As such the head of the party decided in an emergency meeting today to let Mr. Erik Almqvist to move on.

Almqvist thus leaves his post in the party, according to the party leader, Jimmie Åkesson at a press conference a few moments ago.

"I've talked with Erik Almqvist today. He has agreed to step down as an the economic policy spokesperson and his place in the Executive Committee., I have also asked him to consider his parliamentary seat, "said Åkesson.
Mr. Akesson stress that his party is not going back to the noting associated with it by making racist gestures. This is why for him, today is his worst day in politics.

"What we have seen is statements and conduct that is completely unacceptable, "said Åkesson, who states that he has only seen the whole material today.
It is interesting to see how a party associated with racist tone starts shifting to the centre.
